San Diego Zoo Safari Park

We recently had the opportunity to Adventure off to this amazing place and honestly we cannot wait to go back. With huge acres of land, more than thousands of animals to see, the San Diego Zoo Safari Park is a great place for all ages to enjoy and one of the best places to explore while visiting near San Diego. Below you will read our 𝕋𝕚𝕡𝕤 and ways to 𝕊𝕒𝕧𝕖 before you arrive on your next 𝔸𝔻𝕍𝔼ℕ𝕋𝕌ℝ𝔼!





🤗 𝔽𝕦𝕟 𝕎𝕒𝕪𝕤 𝕋𝕠 𝔼𝕩𝕡𝕝𝕠𝕣𝕖 San Diego Safari Park! (Please Read Below) ⬇️

🎠Take a ride on their colorful Conservation 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗹. You can choose to ride a giraffe, rhino, zebra, cheetah, and more. * Unlimited rides for only $6.
🚐 Take a ride on their 𝗔𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗮𝗿𝗶 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗺. You will have the opportunity to explore some of the savanna habitats, giving you a chance to connect with wildlife on a closer level. *No reservation required. This is a first come, first served experience and free with paid admission. Separate Safari Rides available for purchase online or onsite. *Ride Approximately takes 25 minutes and is located at the African Outpost.
🎈Take a ride on their 𝗛𝗼𝘁 𝗔𝗶𝗿 𝗕𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗿, where you will be able to enjoy 10-12 minutes of unbelievable views in the sky as it rises silently over 400 feet overlooking the Safari Park. *Prices vary, depending on peak times and days; please inquire when at the Park. Due to social distancing, capacity may be limited. Please note: Balloon Safari is subject to closure during inclement weather.
🐐 Adventure off to visit their 𝗣𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗞𝗿𝗮𝗮𝗹. Where you will have the opportunity to touch and brush their cute gentle goats! *Free with paid admission. *The Petting Kraal is located in Nairobi Village; hours are 10 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. daily.
🛝 Relax and enjoy some rest time as your little ones can explore their 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘆 𝗔𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀 throughout the park. *Listing of Play Areas Below ⬇️
✨Village Playground. 📍Location: Nairobi Village.*Open daily and free with paid admission. *This is an interactive play area designed as an African village.
✨Mawazo Woods Discovery Area. 📍Location: African Woods. *Open daily and free with paid admission. *Where you can watch your children as they climb and explore in this safari-themed play area.
✨Camp Play Area. 📍Location: Tiger Trail. *Open daily and free with paid admission. *Where you can watch your children climb and slide in a simulated logging camp, hidden within the lush wooded landscape of Tiger Trail.
✨Savanna Cool Zone. 📍Location: Lion Camp. *Free with paid admission, please note: Water elements are turned off during fall & winter season. *You will be able to walk through misty palm trees where you will find three slippery toy critters that spout water.
🐘 Go Explore Elephants with a Safari Storyteller; where your guide will share stories and educational information about the Safari Park’s African elephant herd. *Cost is $15 per person for ages 3 and older. *Tickets and schedule available at Flightline Safari check in booth in Nairobi Village near wayfinding post 6.




The San Diego Zoo Safari Park has several restaurants and lots of gift shops.

You are aloud to bring in your own food and drinks into the park. *Please keep in mind large coolers and glass are prohibited.





San Diego is lucky to have two of the top zoos in the world. Of course, for visitors whose time is limited, you may only have the opportunity to visit one just like we did, but we most definitely are planning to visit the other park soon.
